Travis's Wedding

Last Saturday, my stepbrother got married. It was Grant and Graham's first wedding (outside my belly ... they were in there for my youngest sister's wedding). Ellyson had been sick with strep throat, and missed three days of school. She spent a day and a half resting, in order to make it through the wedding.

Graham's favorite part? Dancing.
Grant's favorite part? Fire!

Homemade Butter

The kids helped me make homemade butter by hand this week. Three out of four children loved it, and Carter won't stop raving about it. 

Fall Fun

Yesterday, school was out for Columbus Day. I often take the kids apple picking on Columbus Day. It's about a two-hour drive, and the varieties available for picking right now are not our favorites. So instead, this year, took the kids to buy apples at a farm, and we rode the tractor (no hay) ride. It worked out better. I got my peck of honeycrisps, and my half-peck each of Jack's favorite and the kids' favorite. Plus, Grant was complaining off and on of his stomach hurting, so I didn't want him in the car quite so long.

Ath Half 2016

So, we had more soccer games on Saturday. Ellyson scored at least six goals. Carter ran hard and took several attempts at goals. Graham scored his first goal. So now all our kids have scored goals this season. Hooray!

But our weekend excitement was Sunday. The kids got up at 5:45 (honestly, half the time, Grant's up at 5:45 anyway) so we could watch Jack run the Ath Half again. He finished in 1:55, which includes a minute of Port-a-potty mid-race. That's 10 minutes faster than last year! He is awesome!
